Clothesline Project
9 a.m.-4 p.m., Lower Quad
Empowering event designed to provide healing for sexual assault survivors, education about violence and violence prevention. It uses decorated t-shirts displayed on a clothesline to help air the dirty laundry of activities and violence often committed behind closed doors.

Creative and Scholarly Achievements
3 p.m., Renfro Library
Annual recognition of MHU faculty's and staff's creative and scholarly achievements (books written, articles published, exhibitions or performances staged, etc.) in the past year. Six faculty members will be recognized this year.

Zoe & Cloyd Concert
7:30 p.m., Owen Theatre
Join the Ramsey Center for Appalachian Studies for its annual spring concert featuring Western North Carolina's own Zoe & Cloyd. 2025 marks the 10-year anniversary of Zoe & Cloyd, which grew out of the partnership of fiddler/vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist John Cloyd Miller. They will be featuring material from their latest release, Songs of Our Grandfathers, which is an homage to their respective bluegrass and klezmer roots. For this show, they will be joined by long-time collaborator Kevin Kehrberg on bass, and innovative musician Ben Krakauer on banjo and guitar. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale to ensure that this experience is available and accessible to all. Seating is first-come, first-served. For the 32nd year, students in MHU's Event Management class (part of the Recreation & Sport Management major) will host and facilitate the Madison County Senior Games for the Madison County Parks and Recreation Department.

Spring SLAM
9 a.m.-4 p.m., various venues (opening ceremony in Moore Auditorium)
SLAM stands for Student Liberal Arts Mosaic. It's a day on which classes are canceled so that students may present, or experience other students presenting, their research, creativity, and performance works. Plenary session at 10:45 a.m. is a debate featuring panels of students and faculty, with audience participation, on the topic "Is AI Our Friend?"

Healthy Lions Color Walk/Run 5K

This event is a 5 km (3.1 mi) walk or run during which participants are cheered on and showered with colored powder at various points along the course. Participants should wear a white shirt.

Bailey Mountain Cloggers Spring Concert: Romeo & Juliet
Friday-Sunday, April 25-27, 7 p.m.
Moore Auditorium
The greatest love story retold through a show of clogging and dance. Join us for three nights in Moore Auditorium and fall in love with Romeo and Juliet through modern day music and dance. Tickets are $15 (free for MHU students, staff, and faculty).

Lion Life

Lion Life is designed to provide new students with an introduction to life at Mars Hill University. Enrolling students attend one of four sessions offered in the spring and summer. At Lion Life, they will receive important information to prepare for the fall semester, connect with faculty and staff, receive their fall class schedules (after completing the class schedule questionnaire), and meet some of new classmates.

Lions' Choice Awards
Tuesday, April 29

The Lions' Choice Awards are the annual awards ceremony that recognize the academic and athletic accomplishments of Mars Hill University student-athletes. Awards range from Male and Female Highest GPA, as well as Highest Team GPA, to Man and Female of the Year. The LCA's recognize stellar athletic performances with the Performance of the Year Award as well as Male and Female Athlete of the Year. Celebrating community engagement and support from the Mars Hill University faculty/staff are also key honors recognized at the event.

Nursing Pinning and Lamp Lighting Ceremony
Thursday, May 8, 2 p.m.
Graduating nurses will receive a pin which signifies their transition from the student role to the medical practice role. The tradition is said to have originated in the 1860s with Florence Nightingale, who presented medals of excellence to the graduating nurses of the Nightingale School of Nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London, England.
