Speaker: Jennifer Pharr Davis, National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, Asheville Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Appalachian Trail through-hike record holder, author, speaker, mom, wife. Special music by Amanda McLeod, a sophomore music performance major from Candler, North Carolina.

"Entrepreneurship: What I Wish I Had Known." Jennifer Pharr Davis, founder of Blue Ridge Hiking Company, shares 16 years of small business lessons and strategies as well as some of her biggest mistakes (so you can avoid them). Lunch will be provided. Hosted by the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life.
Mt. Olive Cemetery Soup Supper Fundraiser
4:30-7 p.m., 40 Mt. Olive Drive, Mars Hill
MHU is an academic and community partner in the Land of Sky WNC African American Cemeteries Remembrance Project that is working to preserve and protect these historic and culturally significant spaces. Dine-in and carry-out options available. Donations accepted at the door. Proceeds support the maintenance and beautification of the historic burial site of the Black community in Madison County. Hosted in partnership with Madison County Racial Justice Coalition.

Polar Plunge Supporting Madison County Special Olympics
2 p.m., Ammons Field House
Fundraiser for Madison County Special Olympics. Raffle prizes, chili cook-off, costume contest. Costs to participate: individual plunge participant: $20; individual plunge participant plus t-shirt: $50; chili chef: $20. Funds raised will provide year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health services to Special Olympics athletes in our community.

2024 Hart-Melvin Archival Research Fellows Leila Weinstein and Jennifer Miranda-Pineda (Nursing/Appalachian Studies) will present their findings from a semester of research in the Ramsey Center's Southern Appalachian Archives.
Alpha Chi Induction Ceremony
7 p.m., Oscar Sams Dining Room, Pittman Dining Hall
Induction ceremony for new members of Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Members of the honor society must be juniors or seniors with grade point averages in the top 10 percent of the student body. Mars Hill's chapter, North Carolina Epsilon Chapter 120, was formed in 1971.
