FRESH:ReFRESH Art Exhibit at MHU's Weizenblatt Gallery
Show runs June 27-August 1
Mars Hill, NC (06/20/2025) — The Madison County Arts Council and the Weizenblatt Gallery at Mars Hill University are proud to present FRESH:ReFRESH, a show of new work in various media from 42 local and regional artists. This show is an opportunity for artists to present newer works in a gallery setting, and for the arts council to present a wide range of expression in one show. There will be painting, photography, sculpture, music, mixed media, fiber, and glass among the works presented.
"It is exciting to present this themed show for the second year in a row. The first FRESH show in 2024 was a great mix of ideas. And we are especially grateful to Mars Hill University and the Weizenblatt Gallery for opening their doors to us for this show. It is a real example of community interaction and shared resources," says Erich Hubner, Program Director at MCAC. "Our gallery committee is very active and has been instrumental in making this show a success."
Artists included in the show are: Alex Webber, Amanda Bagnato, Anne Schneider, AP Hall, Barbara McGuire, Cathy Bennett, Craig "Queggy" Comeau, Danalee Pipes, Douglas Graupe, Gabriela Masala, George Pfeffer, Hilary Nylander, Ilsa Myers, Jacob Dudley, Jane Sleeper, Joe Bruneau, Kara Brown, Kerstin Davis, Kristalyn Bunyan, Lauren Rutten, Lelia Canter, Linda Go, Linda Goodwin, Linda Pannullo, Lois Simbach, Lucy Miller, Minna Pollari, Parker J Pfister, Pepper Koval, Rachel Goldstein, Ralph Rognstad Jr, Primrose Coke, Sarah Jones Decker, Savannah Alshaer, Sky Walsh, Susan McChesney, Teri, Tim Nylander, Tony Koval, Tucker Hibbitts, William Asman, and Woody Eisenberg. The show is presented by the Madison County Arts Council with help from Mars Hill University, North Carolina Arts Council, and the Madison County Tourism Development Authority. This project was supported by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
The show will be on display from June 27 through August 1, 2025, with receptions taking place on June 27 and August 1. The regular gallery hours are Monday - Friday 10am-4pm, with the two receptions taking place from 5-7 pm. Weizenblatt Gallery is located in the Moore Fine Arts Building on the Mars Hill University Campus, 79 Cascade Street, Mars Hill, NC.
