Kindergarteners Take their Teddy Bears for a Wellness Check at Mars Hill University
Mars Hill, NC (11/26/2024) — Kindergarten students from Brush Creek Elementary School took their stuffed animals for medical check-ups Tuesday, November 26. Mars Hill University's Judge-McRae School of Nursing hosted the event in collaboration with the university's education department. The Teddy Bear Clinic was designed to help the MHU students gain practical experience working with children, as their future careers in healthcare and education will require. The kindergarteners, with some help from the university's mountain lion mascot, Cosmo, learned that nurses and doctors are friends who take care of them--and their stuffed animals--in helpful ways.
