Mars Hill University Names New Trustees

Mars Hill, NC (01/31/2022) — Three new members and one previous member joined Mars Hill University's board of trustees in January.

Returning to the board following a required one-year break in active service is A.C. Honeycutt of Mars Hill, North Carolina. Honeycutt graduated from Mars Hill in 1975 and is a retired vice president of First Citizens Bank in Asheville. He and his wife, Susie, started the Fields of Hope farming and gardening project focused on fighting hunger in Western North Carolina, and also help lead a ministry which builds homes and distributes food and clothing in Honduras.

The board of trustees is Mars Hill University's governing body and administers the budget, major policy decisions, and other major matters of university business. The president runs day-to-day operations and serves as the official liaison between the university and the board. The board comprises 34 members serving staggered terms.
