The North Carolina Epsilon Chapter 120 of Alpha Chi Honor Society at Mars Hill University inducted eleven new members in the fall semester of 2019. Members of the honor society must be juniors and seniors with grade point averages in the top 10 percent of the student body.

Mars Hill volleyball's Lauren Hochstetler was named to the 2017 Academic All-America Division II Volleyball Team as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on December 12, 2017. Hochstetler was named First Team for the first time in her career. Hochstetler is the first volleyball player in program history to earn a First Team Academic All-American selection and the first volleyball player since 1985 to get recognized by CoSIDA (Denise Groh, Honorable Mention). She is also the first female student-athlete in Mars Hill history to earn a First Team selection. Head Coach Tony Fontanelle said of his senior outside hitter, "It has been an honor to have Lauren as part of the Mars Hill volleyball program. The example that she has set for fellow teammates and student-athletes, both on and off the court, has been something to behold." Hochstetler holds a 4.00 GPA while studying chemistry with minors in biology and pre-professional studies.

Mars Hill University conferred bachelor's degrees on 63 undergraduates who completed their degree requirements in August or December. Among the graduates, the most popular majors were business administration, criminal justice, and social work.
